self pampering
I was so eager to share my 50% La Senza voucher since it's my birthday month. Really happy that I have La Senza fanatic friends =) We kept the sale assistants as busy as they can be, checking stocks for us, calling up other branches to check size, transferring etc.. I guess not much explanation is required looking at the amount we bought. There are still 5 missing pieces, waiting to be transferred from other branches.

And even after 50% off, the bill still came up to a staggering half a thousand. Seriously?

This is the first time I've actually seen such a long shopping bill, grocery shopping aside.

All the pretty bags waiting for us =)

They are not all mine. My items are in a small little bag. And of coz, all of us left really happy! Shopping takes away all our studying blues.
*********************

After shopping, we headed to dinner at Annalakshmi. It's Indian vegetarian ala carte buffet with no price tag so you "pay as you wish". Pretty awesome concept.

flea titan
WL and I braved the teenage crowd for a flea exploration at Mount Sophia, Old School. The whole place was packed, hot and stuffy but we managed to bag some steals =) My buys include 1 vest and 1 cropped blazer for $5 each, 1 asymmetric jumpsuit for $15 and 1 Zara dress for $20. Almost spent the same amount on a Topshop dress. Luckily I held back. 4 VS 1 is kinda a no brainer.

who cares about vanity fair
Lael had an extra ticket to Loreal Private Sale and she invited me to join her. It totally made up for the lacking of this round's vanity fair. We were happily grabbing stuffs from Lancome, Kiehl, YSL and Loreal. Stuffs that we bought ranged from $10-25! I was able to get better stuffs than MAC at similar prices. Isn't this pretty?

I'm embracing my height (or lack of height) with these really cute ballet pumps from Pedder Warehouse Sale. They are really comfy =) And there was this pair of patent red Marc Jacobs peeptoes which were also really comfy but it was only 2". Lael's philosophy is either flats for comfort or sky high heels so even though it may be my only chance of owning a pair of Marc Jacobs (70% off), I had to give it a miss. Squeezed in an additional 20% (5 pairs or more) on top of the discount as we managed to ride off a group of ladies. It's wonderful how shopping can unite women =) My bathroom is gonna be my secret shoes hiding place.

Also, we've probably covered every single designer store in town today. Someone's preparing her wistlist for her Paris flight. I'm so JEALOUS!!!

2 of my fav items: denim and heels
There's something special about sale shopping. It's unlike shopping at a normal boutique where you spot something that you like, try it on in different sizes, compare with different colors,go home and sleep over it and decide. Sales shopping is something you can't control. It's either there or not. Sometimes, there's only 1 piece, 1 size, something different from those you already have, the right cutting, and the perfect price. You miss it and there's no second chance whereby you hope that it will still be there the next day. There's this thrill of finding the best deals during a sale, something that is soooo past season that it's actually making a comeback.

I'm totally pleased with myself. I don't think anyone can find a pair of decent denim for $33 and I managed to snatch 1 pair of acid wash skinny from 7 for all Mankind!!! How awesome is 90% discount man....

doing my part to boost the economy
If you have nothing to do this Sunday and don't mind squeezing with the crowd, you might like to visit Suntec Convention Centre. There are 3 sales events there currently.
  1. Miss Sixty Bazaar. Up to 80% off. Most denim selling for $60. Didn't add anything to my Miss Sixty collection.
  2. Fashionista Sale. Selling weird American brands. They have some Armani Exchange Tees selling for $10! I grabbed 1.
  3. Branded shoes sale for guys, mainly Renoma and Hush Puppies. Man's leather shoes were going for $29-$49. A lot of huge sizes (43, 44) left. I bought 3 pairs of Renoma leather working shoes for Nithe for $29 each (UP. ~ $150). What a steal.

Also, there's a flea market at St James Power Station tmr. Still thinking whether I should go. Anyone interested?

more shoes again
lalala.... If you haven't heard, Pedder Red is having sale at Isetan Shaw Level 3. It's not like their previous sale events at Swissotel where their discounted shoes are still unaffordable. The shoes on sale this time round ranges from $50-80, mostly stock from Malaysia as their price tags are in RM. And additional 20% off when purchase 3 pairs or more. A random stranger approached me to make up her 3rd pair and so mine was $64! They are so comfy and I totally can wear them to school =) 3 pairs of black platform heels in 1 month worth over $700 but spent less than $300.

steve madden
My feet are super happy now. Have been eyeing on this pair of studded Steve Madden for awhile and even though of asking my cousin-in-law to find it for me in States but I found it in SG and for the first time, SG (after discount) is actually cheaper than States (after discount). I can't believe it too but it's true. Happy happy happy =) 4.25 inches!!!

I had so many pairs of shoes in front of me while trying and it feels like how people try on tons of shoes in shows. I'm still on the fence about these 2. I have 2 pairs of oxfords but this peep toe leather one looks really creamy and comfortable. Shall sleep over it and see how it goes.

current obsession - fringe and studs
I'm so pleased with my latest purchase from Zara. Despite some negative reviews, I bought it anyway since I've been eyeing on it even before it went on sale. This will give me the additional height I'm desperately in need of (4'). I'm juz surprised that my size hung on long enough to survive the first round of 30% discount for me to grab it at 50% off (it might also be because it's so ugly that no one wants it). Okay, my ankles look horrendous =(

Of course inspired by Burberry Prorsum Studded Heels

PS. I don't think that my dressing is showy in any way.

my christmas pressie
I bought myself an early Christmas present, Miu Miu Matelasse Leather Tote, black lamb skin with gold hardware =) Was kinda sad that I wasn't able to make it for the first day of the sale due to exams last week but when I dropped by the store today, they happened to stock up some new sale items (40% off) from Paris and ta-dah! I'm gonna transfer every single cent in my bank account to my mum to disable myself from spending any more money. I'm totally serious.

benefit me (black friday)
I don't usually use Benefit Cosmetics (I'm a MAC and Bobbi Brown fan) but since there's a sale, no harm giving it a try since the prices are comparable to MAC's sale. I didn't check out the counter prices so I'm juz comparing based on online US prices, which are already cheaper than SG's counters.

Top left to right. Boi-ing - S$10 (UP. US$18), Lemon Aid - S$10 (UP. US$20), Show Off - S$10 (UP. US$12)
Bottom left to right. Silky Finish Lipstick S$15 (UP. US$18), HollywoodGlo S$16 (UP. US$24), Hard Angle Brush S$12 (UP. US$12)

****

Also, guys who are fans of Calvin Klein underwear and missed the previous sale 2 weeks ago (briefs and boxers went for $10 each), there's another one at Isetan Scotts now going at 50% off. Nithe has a total of 7 now =) I love love love their band. Would have bought for myself if I could wear it.

happy thanks giving
Since my sis's A Levels was over, she has been so free and in a shopping deficit. I grabbed her to the Charles and Keith Warehouse Sales to see whether we can find any good buys. There were shoes ranging from $9-35 and bags from $15-35. Not lacking of shoes (my sis juz bought 2 pairs of pumps the day before), we settled for 2 pairs of $9 shoes and a $15 basket bag. People around us bought tons of shoes and bags, which made us feel pathetic. We quickly got our asses out and rushed for our next appointment.

My mum was kinda free at work so she decided to sneak out for an impromptu lunch at Au Petit Salut. A month ago, I was here and I said I'll be back =)

Some of our yummy food. The desserts were so good that by the time I remembered to take photos, they were half gone =(

My sis and I were complaining about how this year will be the first year end in at least 5 years which we are not traveling. Now that my sis is out of JC, we can travel during off-peak seasons. We were reminiscing significant places we once visited like safaris in South Africa, our first snow encounter in Turkey, how we were robbed at San Francisco etc. Those were like eons ago and I can vaguely remember. Almost at the end of lunch, I realized that today's thanks giving. What a wonderful way to spend it on a random Thursday, in the midst of exams.

Do we look alike?

denim fest
I can't believe I didn't hear about this sale until this evening when it started on THURSDAY =( Anyway, I rushed down and luckily there were not many people. 25 was their smallest size and sadly, I can't fit into it. I've been eyeing on True Religion for awhile and I really wanted to get one.

I racked their kid's denim and the sale guy was doubtful and tried directing me to the right section. I tried their largest kid's size available, size 10, and yay! Children clothes is the way to save money. True Religion Low Rise Bobby. I love their bold stitching =)

This completes my 1 year denim collection.
Sass&Bide - 1
Rock&Republic - 1
Seven for All Mankind - 1
True Religion - 1
Miss Sixty - 4
575 - 1
Cheap Monday - 1
Armani Exchange - 1

Club21 Bazaar
I've always wanted a tight high-waisted pencil skirt and finally received mine from American Apparel. It's not as tight as I've wished but guess that's the case when I've no hips and butt. Hopefully the dryer can do wonders and shrink it.

Top: Diesel
Skirt: American Apparel
Bag: Kate Spade
Shoes: Anne Klein

I went for the Club21 Bazaar at Pit Building and boy, it's probably the largest scale bazaar Club21 has ever organized. They carried all their brands, from their cheaper range of ArmaniExchange and CalvinKlein, to their top ranges of Marni and Balenciaga apparels. The prices were more reasonable but still not crazily cheap. There were moments where I felt really lost. Like there're so much clothes and I literally don't know what to do or where to start or what to buy. Of course, having a budget really helps. There was a selection of shoes but none in my size as usual. Sometimes size 35 is still loose on my binded feet. One can lose/gain weight to fit into clothes but the feet is something that won't change.
I stuck with my favourite ArmaniExchange and added 4 tops and a pair of skinny to my ever growing collection. Also got a top from Diesel and 2 belts from DKNY. All these for slightly over $200. I should say that it's a bargain. 95% of people left with bags full of goodies. The 5% are probably guys since there wasn't much stuff for them. The crappy thing is that they PURPOSELY blocked off all the mirrors and there are no fitting rooms. So you either have to trust ur friend's eyes or depend on your own instincts.

photosensitizer, chlorin e6-polyvinylpyrrolidone blah
Despite a very hectic upcoming week with 2 back to back presentations and 1 project report due, I still managed to unwind by attending 2 sale events. NUS vanity fair was a bummer this year but I still managed to get what I intended to so YAY =) Also, there was Electicism sale where I got a real good deal from Rachel Pally (convertible dress) and Twelfth Street By Cynthia Vincent (floor sweeping maxi dress). Dresses that were selling at >USD$200 were going for < $60

all that shopping
  1. Dress appropriately. Avoid pants, jeans, shorts. Mid length skirts or dresses are most convenient as you can try bottoms under them without using the fitting room.
  2. No children, boyfriends, husbands. Juz making sure that they are not bored with shopping is enough to kill your shopping spirit. It would be nice if they could start queuing to pay even before you are done but that's quite evil.
  3. No heels. Slippers, pumps, flats are good.
  4. Who cares about image during a sale. Grab as many pieces as you like and hog a mirror. Try over what you are wearing to save the hassle of the fitting room.
  5. Take first, think later.
.

After over 5 hours of shopping at 2 different sales events

Anyway, my room has this strong leather smell now, thanks to the purchase of 2 more leather jackets from Armani Exchange (1 black leather motorcycle jacket and 1 off-white 3/4 leather coat), a handful of tops and a nice pair of Guess pumps. I know I'll probably not have much chance to wear the leathers but leather is my thing and they were going at less than 10% of their original prices. No way I'll be able to afford it even if it was half its original. Now all 3 ladies in the house will have nice leather jackets to flaunt. I developing a 'fall' closest when there's no seasons in SG. Oh well, I'll juz parade it at home and dream that someday SG will snow =)
